The acronym "CE" represents the French expression "Conformité Européene," denoting "European Conformity" in translation.
In Europe, numerous construction items, such as doors and glazing products, must adhere to the harmonised European Norms (hENs) to guarantee compliance with uniform technical standards across the continent.
CE Marking is Mandatory
CE Marking is a requisite requirement, as per the EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR), when a Harmonised European Standard is in place, like in the cases of "Sealed unit manufacture, Window/Door manufacture, or Supply and Installation of Windows/Doors."

Establishing Factory Production Control (FPC) protocols to ensure consistent manufacturing quality.
Generating a Declaration of Performance.
Affixing the CE Marking either on the product itself or its packaging.
Self Certification of Compliance
To demonstrate adherence to the applicable standards, a manufacturer is required to establish a technical file comprising a written test report from a Notified Body, serving as evidence of product performance.
Manufacturers will personally certify that their products satisfy the stipulations outlined in the Construction Products Directive. The contents of the technical file must substantiate this declaration.
